Dawn of the Dead: 70s Arcade Part II: The Qwak is back

A little while back, I covered the arcade that showed up briefly in Dawn Of The Dead (1978) (GOF #17) While prepping for the forthcoming GAMES ON FILM video series. (That’s right, stay tuned for more info on that.) I was able to identify some machines from this scene...

GAMES ON FILM: Never Say Never Again

Never Say Never Again, one of the so-called unofficial Bond films, made outside of the (mostly) inept grasp of EON. Sean Connery returns as James Bond 007, for the last time on the big screen. That is, unless you count Sir Billi (12) or buy into that whole “The Rock...

ABOUT (WHATS GOING ON?)

Hi, I’m Alex kisby. A filmmaker and writer, cartoonist and occasional animator.

I take a lateral thinking approach to new ideas. I believe that concepts are more than surface level and can be mined and explored in unique ways to find their true potential.

I enjoy experimenting with mixed media, such as combining live-action and animation.

I have an MA in filmmaking and a BA in animation. I have a long-standing appreciation of film in all its forms as an art form, a way of self-expression and it’s storied history

My graduation comedy short film, “Waitology”, has been screened at several film festivals globally and has received nominations and accolades.

Outside of film, I take experimental photography with a Gameboy camera. I like the challenge it offers,  pushing hardware to its limits and using the GB camera in ways it wasn’t really intended.

I also write and draw a series of comic scripts, including “Office Duck.”  Side projects such as these allow me to explore new creative avenues.
